Randy, One of my student's, Carl Cooley, came to his lesson yesterday, right after your camp concert. He was so excited. Thanks for your work with him. I am very interested in having you work with some young violinists from Rice Lake and Eau Claire this next year. Do you still do workshops for Suzuki groups? You came to our group in Eau Claire in 1990 and worked with us at Grace Lutheran Church. I have a new studio in Eau Claire and still direct the Eau Claire group. I am interested in trying to set something up. Thanks. Lin Strong

Hi, Randy! Cindy is interested in your fiddle camp this summer. I believe the Advanced session from July 30 to Aug 1, would work for us. Are you filled? We need info on cost and application. The last time she played with you was in Lake Geneva at Wesley Woods two years ago. Hope she can make it this year. Keep us posted and send info soon. Thanks.

Hi Randy I found your Website purely by accident(?)and I am very happy about that. I'm a Pianist living in Northern NJ who used to have time to visit friends in Wisconsin. 1 wife, 1 Baby, Both Beautiful. I make a good (decent) living as a freelance accompanist, church organist, theater music director. I'm a music reader, not an improviser, but as the years roll by, I've started playing around with my music more. Mostly when I'm tired- I kind of sit back and watch my hands do their own thing. (This is especially weird when I'm playing something like Bach.) Intrested in how you made the transition from your early(?) Classical background to what you do now. I know of a trumpeter around this neck of the woods who (startingwhen 14 years old) sat down and wrote out every note of every Miles Davis solo ever published, then practiced and thought about them. Worked for him, but what about you? Maybe some of your other listeners/readers would be interested too. Thanks, Jeff - PresJA@aol

Greetings from ...Fusiontunes, The Fusion Violinist... What is the one factor in ALL forms of art..?? Imagination. A good painter can sit on the beach and paint a beautiful scene of the ocean he sees in front of him.. However, A true artist can sit on the beach and paint anything he wants. A good musician can reproduce music from a sheet of paper, but a true music artist acquires his music from a different source. Discover the "true" art form in music, IMPROVISATION. Whether it be Funk, Jazz, Rock, Bebop or Fusion,, There are always a few of us who delve into a different realm where we enter the world of improvisation and Spontaneity, where we have evolved beyond theory and rehearsed compositions, where we think in terms of "colors", instead of notes.. Let your thoughts flow like water. Fill your mind with the river of sound. Discover the music of a Fusion Violinist http://www.fusiontunes.net fusiontunes@yahoo.com "No rules, No limitations"

I miss the fun concerts at the Gerard Hotel in Ladysmith. We've been in the Fox Valley for three years now. Do you have workshops for younger children, i.e. 7, 9 years old? One of my autographed Wisconsin originals tape broke - totally bummed about that, my kids loved it. Hopefully we'll get to one of your concerts or workshops in the near future. We were up north Labor Day weekend so we missed the Neenah gig. Best wishes to you, could you let me know about the workshop thing? Thanks, Patti

Wow! It's hard to believe it's been over 6 years since I attended a day-long master class at Waukesha South High School with you Randy. I still consider it one of the most exciting days of music I have ever experienced (it even topped singing with the Cincinatti Symphony). Congrats on the new methods book! If it's half as good as your master class, those that use it are in for something special. Best of luck!

My husband and I just returned from one of your free concerts put on by our City of Port Orange. It was an outside performance, weather was just beautiful and the music was fabulous. I come from Canada and i"m curious as te name of the band. There is a wild fern that grows in Canada that we eat for a vegetable called a Fiddlehead. It looks like the neck of the fiddle before it turns into the fern. I'm interested on how you derived at the band name. We also have what they call 'Fiddlers on the River event" that has been going on for 7 yrs. now, the last week of June, where they get in canoes and float down the river for about 10 miles all the while playind and dancing on platforms to fiddle tunes. There we"re over 250 canoes last year and every year it gets bigger. They come from all over Canada to perticipate. Lots of good fun. They have a big supper afterwards more music, then Sunday morning they have a Church service all done with fiddle tune hymns. This is just beautiful. Many thanks again. Flo

Thanks for an excellent concert in Madison this past Sunday. Our family enjoyed the event immensely. It is not often that one group can appeal to as wide an age range as yours. Our sons - 9 and 12 - had a great time, as did we - their parents. I also appreciated the 4:00 PM concert time. The traditional late concert usually eliminates young children. I thought it was significant that there were 6 young people within the first three rows ..... including our family. Thanks again for a marvelous variety of styles performed with excellence! Come back to Madison again soon!
